OPTIONS FOR TEACHERS

Designed for teachers of all methods and practitioners with a minimum of 5 years of practice who want to learn and understand aspects of teaching.

 

This program consists of 8 intensive classes throughout the year, held on the third Thursday of each month.

​

  • First cycle: March to June

  • Second cycle: August to November

 

Schedule: 12:00 to 13:15 (includes the option to stay for the 13:30 class in the studio, even if you're not a plan holder).

​

If you're a plan holder, you'll receive a discount on this special cycle of classes.

 

You can take one cycle (4 classes) or both cycles (8 classes).

​

Prices:

  • Intensive 4-class cycle

$105.000 for plan holders

$130.000 for external students (includes the 13:30 class on the same Thursday).

  • Intensive 8-class cycle:

$200.000 for plan holders 

$240.000 for external students (includes the 13:30 class on the same Thursday).

CURRICULUM (MARCH TO JUNE)​

​

1. Effectiveness of Physical and Verbal Adjustments

How and when to physically adjust and correct students. Understanding the importance of pauses in verbal instructions. Learning to observe students' physical, mental, and emotional planes. Regulating tone of voice, emphasis, and silence.

​

2. The Art of Sequencing

Understanding the uniqueness of each sequence in the Iyengar method and how to adapt them to students' levels. Creating sequences that progress logically and adapt to changes during class.

​

3. Variations During the Menstrual Cycle 

Exploring variations for students during their menstrual cycle, considering individual differences and needs. Moving beyond standard options to provide more variety and support.

 

​4. Relieving Lower Back, Upper Back, Neck, and Shoulder Pain 

Adapting practice for students with pain, from mild to severe. Maintaining the flow of the class while assisting students with modifications. 

 

CURRICULUM (AUGUST TO NOVEMBER)​

 

1. Inversions 

In-depth exploration of Sirsasana and Sarvangasana. Understanding variations, adaptations, and corrections. Timing and deepening practice, considering organic and emotional aspects.

 

2. Backbends

The science of backbends for maintaining a healthy spine and promoting well-being. Overcoming fear and building confidence. Guiding students with care and security.

​3. Pranayama

Teaching pranayama effectively, starting with setup and props. Choosing initial pranayamas, timing, and integrating them into regular practice.

​

4. Mental Health

Understanding students' emotional states and supporting their mental health through practice. Exploring Iyengar variations and therapeutic postures for anxiety, grief, fatigue, and low mood. Providing tools for students to feel better.

MENTORSHIP

For those seeking certification in the Iyengar method or upgrading their certification level from 1 to 2.

 

The mentorship process is the required pathway by the Iyengar family to qualify for a certification exam. To be eligible, you must have a minimum of 2-3 years of practice with a certified Iyengar yoga teacher, be a consistent practitioner, and have a strong desire to teach and continue sharing the legacy of B.K.S. Iyengar.

 

For both Level 1 and Level 2, spaces are extremely limited, with a maximum of 3 participants per level.
